Complete Streets

The City of Chillicothe and the Ross County Health District's Creating Healthy Communities Program are working together to design a Complete Streets Policy. The new plan will set guidelines to ensure that our streets are accessible to walkers, bikers, rollers, and drivers.

We want to involve residents, associations, shop keepers and companies as much as possible in drawing up the new plan!

Join the discussion!

In order to hear your opinion, we will ask you to participate here at regular intervals and we will, of course, link this to what is happening on the field (information evenings, discussion evenings, etc.).

Following input, walk audits, and work sessions with multiple partners, a policy has been drafted and is ready for adoption!

Scroll down to review the drafted policy in front of City Council for adoption.

You're viewing real-time data. Participant counts are continuously updated for administrators. Please note that regular users see cached data, which may result in slight differences in the numbers.

BIKE LANES, like this one on Piatt Avenue, provide safe routes of transportation for cyclists. By narrowing wide roadways, they can also help calm traffic on residential roads and buffer parked cars from the open road.

VISIBLE CROSSWALKS, like this one at the intersection of Paint and Second Streets, affirm the safety and comfort of pedestrians by clearly calling motorists to watch out.

TREE-LINED STREETS, like Caldwell Street, are both visually appealing and practical: trees keep things cool in the summer, reduce pollutants and runoff, and can even increase your home's value!
