Amphitheater
From "American Rescue Plan: Think Big Chillicothe"
Go to the project

An amphitheater in or around Yoctangee Park could serve as a hub for theatrical productions, courses, meetings, celebrations, and other outdoor events. The idea of an amphitheater was included in the 1993 Parks Improvement Master Plan. Have a look at the attached PDF to see the conceptual plans from that plan!

This would be a great addition to our parks and downtown area... Anything that draws more foot traffic to the area is an excellent idea!

I'd love to see this go into the armory building. Something like the "pit" style theater like Newport in Columbus. Use large garage doors to make it an indoor/outdoor venue, and use the side yard for food trucks.
It'd be a great addition for festivals, and could be used for indoor farmers markets.

@Allison Metzger That's a great idea as well. We need a food truck lot for sure.

@MiggyT
Looks like there are multiple levels in the proposed ampitheater... ;)
I do like this but am having a hard time picturing where it will be placed. Showing a map of the park and the potential placement within the park might garner more buy-in.

@Michael Throne I agree. This already has the natural shape for an amphitheater. This was vehemently opposed when proposed an a stadium for the Paints. That was a mistake to oppose and this is a good idea. A multi use stadium/amphitheater which would allow the continuation of baseball and add many other events.

@Seth Blewitt The '93 Master Park Plan image is attached and references the location @Michael Throne pointed out. The PDF sketch from that plan is attached and can be viewed in the bottom right corner of this page.
